Margarida Maneta, a member of MeLCi Lab, participated in the Antena 1 program Consulta Pública dedicated to the topic “Disinformation: the phenomenon that is no longer marginal”. Among the participants, the MeLCiLab researcher emphasised the importance of media literacy in combating disinformation, drawing on her experience with senior audiences (through teaching) and intergenerational groups (based on research conducted within the YouNDigital project). Margarida Maneta highlighted that population ageing and the progressive digitalisation of society have redefined the importance of addressing the needs of people aged 60 and above through situated media literacy approaches.
